Bernie Clark, ERYT 500

Bernie Clark

Bernie Clark has been teaching yoga and meditation since 1998. He has a bachelor degree in Science from the University of Waterloo and combines his intense interest in yoga with an understanding of the scientific approach to investigating the nature of things. His ongoing studies have taken him deeply inside mythology, comparative religions and psychology. All of these avenues of exploration have clarified his understanding of the ancient Eastern practices of yoga and meditation. His teaching, workshops and books have helped many students broaden their own understanding of health, life and the source of true joy.

Tianne Banerd, RYT 500, ERYT 200

Tianne came to yoga after a long career as a high performance athlete. She brought her passion and commitment as a dedicated athlete to her yoga practice, coming to the mat daily for power yoga practices. Her love of yoga grew and Tianne began teaching. One night, while out for an evening stroll with her dog, Tianne was hit by a car. Her yoga practice changed dramatically. Instead of power yoga flows, it became a practice of healing for body, mind and spirit, of finding peace within the trauma. The experience has been transformative. Tianne now shares what she has learnt on her path of healing through teaching restorative yoga. The practice of restorative yoga, like all yoga styles, aims to cultivate emotional calm, mental clarity and inner peace, all within a healthy, vital body. The difference with restorative Yoga is that we slow it all down to deeply connect with our experience. Within this deep connection we learn how to breath, move and quiet the mind to stimulate healing; restore, rebuild and rejuvenate the body. In gratitude to the healing practice and to the compassionate guidance of her teachers, Tianne is honoured to share her knowledge and experience through classes, workshops and teacher training.
Tianne is a registered yoga therapist, (International Association of Yoga Therapists), registered yoga teacher and teacher trainer.

Jaqueline Maloney, BA, ERYT 200, RCYT

Formally a classroom teacher, Jacqueline has more than 15 years experience working with children in a variety of settings. When she began to use yoga with kids in her English classes, she was amazed at how engaged the children became. Not only did yoga provide a much-needed break from sitting, it helped children become calm and focused. After some weeks of practicing yoga in the classroom, she observed that the children seemed more patient and compassionate towards themselves and others. Now Jacqueline is a full-time yoga teacher, teaching yogis from ages 2 – 80. She is passionate about bringing the benefits of yoga to people of all ages, shapes, sizes and abilities.

Clara Roberts-Oss

Clara Roberts-Oss

All I’ve ever wanted to do is move, dance and let my spirit free. Hailing from one of the bigger meccas of yoga, NYC. I took my first vinyasa class in 2000 at Jivamukti Yoga Center. I had a feeling of arriving home. We moved through postures seamlessly with an emphasis of breath-body connection. The spiritual aspect of the inward journey also appealed to me. I’ve always found movement to be sacred. By allowing myself to dance, to pulse, I felt connected to the Divine, to everything around me. I practiced yoga for a couple of years and decided I should teach; thinking I could share this love of movement with others. I received my certification at Sonic Yoga NYC with Lauren Hanna and Jonathan Fields in 2003.

My unique sense of sequencing is influenced by my beloved teachers Shiva Rea, Lauren Hanna, Stacey Brass-Dana Flynn (Laughing Lotus), David Life and Uma Saraswati (Jivamukti) and from my background in dance. I invite you to be playful in your practice, reminding us that lightness is found in spirit!
